An exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a high-performing public sector finance team as a Senior Accountant within their Financial Strategy team. You’ll play a central role in shaping and delivering long-term financial plans that support key decision-making at the highest level.

Description

  • Lead the build and development of the Medium-Term Financial Strategy
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across services and corporate functions
  • Analyse and scrutinise spending plans, pressures, and corporate functions
  • Oversee key revenue funding streams including grants and council tax
  • Support budget planning and monitoring processes
  • Provide insight and advice to boards and strategic leadership teams
  • Contribute to financial reporting and statutory returns

Profile

The successful Senior Accountant – Financial Strategy should have:

  • CCAB Qualified Accountant (e.g. CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Experience in a similar strategic or business partnering finance role
  • Ability to influence and engage non-finance stakeholders effectively
