Description
- Manage rent accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Reconcile rent accounts and investigate any discrepancies effectively.
- Utilise Orchard system to monitor monthly and weekly debit runs
- Prepare and submit rent reports to senior management in a timely manner.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting related to rent income and expenditure.
- Assist with the compilation of annual service charge and sinking fund.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve tenant account queries.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and organisational policies.
- Support the Finance team with ad hoc duties as required.
Profile
A successful Rent Accountant should have:
- Relevant qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
- Proficiency in Orchard, SUN Accounts, and Vision Excel.
- Experience in designing and implementing financial controls.
- Strong technical knowledge of rent accounting principles within the social housing sector.
- A track record of working effectively within a finance team.
- Social housing rent and service charge accounting management, including write-offs
- Attention to detail and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with various stakeholders.
