Description
The key responsibilities of the Payroll Advisor include:
- Processing end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations
- Calculating overtime, bonuses, statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP), and deductions such as pensions and student loans
- Ensuring timely submission of RTI (Real-Time Information) reports to HMRC and managing year-end payroll processes, including P60s and P11Ds
- Responding to payroll queries from employees and resolving any discrepancies promptly
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with GDPR and internal policies
- Assisting with HR reports, including absence management, headcount analysis, and workforce costs
- Supporting the HR team with salary bench-marking, benefits administration, and payroll-related audits
- Liaising with finance teams to ensure payroll costs are recorded accurately and assisting with reconciliations
Profile
The successful Payroll Advisor should have:
- Experience processing end to end payroll
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in payroll calculations and compliance.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex payroll concepts to non-payroll staff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve payroll discrepancies and implement process improvements.
- Proficient use of Office 365 suite: Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the use of SharePoint.
- Adequate understanding of PowerBI – Desirable
