Overview

We are currently seeking an interim Laboratory Coordinator, to work with Manpower at our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. This is a full-time temporary role to run for a period of 1 year with the view to extend, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £24,949 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver highest professional standards for the coordination of purchased item requirements across the site
  • Collate and monitor all items that will be required as ‘stock items’ to be managed via 3rd party service contract suppliers
  • Ownership of Lab Housekeeping
  • Ensure stock levels of raw materials, consumables and PPE are maintained in core areas
  • Act as First Point of Contact for new Purchase Orders and requests for sample raw materials
  • Provide LIMS and other relevant training to new laboratory users.
  • Deliver front line support to lab/pilot plant users regarding ways of working, set up of facilities and immediate needs/enquiries.
  • Deliver to point of use in laboratories materials picklists and associated ancillaries as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with Pilot plant coordinator to ensure goods inwards are correctly logged on LIMS
  • Maintain raw material and equipment information dossiers e.g., SDS, equipment passports etc
  • Ensure general lab equipment is fit for purpose
  • Create and update accounts spreadsheet
  • Communicating lab safety issues & implementing lab safety improvements

Key Skills Required

  • Experienced Laboratory/scientific facilities coordinator and/or pilot plant experience.
  • Advantageous – Working knowledge of management software programs, including LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • Advantageous – Working Knowledge of Coupa or Easy Budget
  • Exceptional organisational Skills, time management and project tracking abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient IT skills e.g., Microsoft tools (Excel, Word)

Job Tenure: Contract and Full-Time
Salary: Up to £24949 per annum
