Client Details

Based in Selby with offices across the UK, this practice is ideally located to serve Yorkshire based local clients as well as larger national clients.

Description

  • Managing a portfolio of clients with varying business sizes and sectors
  • Serving as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned clients
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

Technical Accounting Work

  • Preparing and reviewing annual accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
  • Handling complex accounting issues and ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Preparing corporation tax and personal tax returns
  • Reviewing VAT returns and other regulatory filings
  • Providing technical advice on accounting and tax matters

Team Leadership

  • Supervising and mentoring junior accountants and trainees
  • Delegating and reviewing work completed by more junior staff
  • Providing technical guidance and training to team members
  • Conducting performance reviews for direct reports

Profile

  • ACCA/ACA qualified or finalist (or equivalent professional qualification)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting practice
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
  • Tax compliance knowledge (corporate and personal tax)
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of clients independently
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience supervising junior staff members
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Client relationship management experience
